On the front in Ukraine, about 20 former prisoners escaped from the Russians, who were supposed to reinforce one of their units in the Svatove area in the Luhansk region.

This was announced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The fact of desertion took place on May 25 – about 20 former prisoners, who had recently undergone accelerated training and arrived to reinforce the unit located near the village of Svatove, stole a KamAZ car and left for an unknown direction.

"At this time, their whereabouts have not been established, the search continues," the General Staff said.

As a reminder, from February 24, 2022 to May 27, 2023, the Armed Forces of Ukraine killed 206,200 soldiers of the Russian army.
