Special traffic arrangements will be made in the national capital in view of the inauguration of the new Parliament building on May 28. The police gave this information on Friday. According to the traffic advisory issued, New Delhi district will be considered a containment zone. Only public transport vehicles, UPSC examinees, residents of the area, labelled vehicles and emergency vehicles will be allowed in the New Delhi area, it said.

"Talkatora Roundabout, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Gol Dakkhana Gol Chakkar, Ashok Road, Patel Chowk Roundabout, Ashok Road, Windsor Place Roundabout, Janpath, MLNP Roundabout, Akbar Road, Gol Methi Roundabout, GKP Roundabout, Teen Murti Marg, Teen Murti Roundabout and Mother Teresa Crescent Road will be treated as regulated areas," the advisory said.

Only UPSC aspirants, genuine residents of these areas, labelled vehicles and emergency vehicles will be allowed to move within the area, the advisory said.

Keeping in mind the possibility of several VVIPs and other dignitaries attending the inaugural ceremony, the Delhi Traffic Police urged people to plan their travel accordingly and avoid visiting New Delhi district from 28.<> am to <> pm on May <>.

"The general public and motorists are advised to be patient, follow traffic rules and road discipline and follow the instructions of traffic personnel posted at all intersections and stay updated through delhi traffic police's Facebook page, Twitter handle, website and helpline," the advisory said.
