The Russian leadership will begin to look for the "guilty" and punish them after the events in the Belgorod region, but whether this will lead to any result is unknown.

This was stated in an interview with Radio Liberty by representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Chernyak.

"Ukraine's military intelligence has long expected these or similar events to happen. We have clearly seen that the people of Russia, the population of Russia, over time, begin to understand that there are tens or hundreds of thousands of victims, there are tens or hundreds of thousands of deaths. And so, strictly speaking, Russian citizens took up arms and went to liberate their country from Putin's regime. This is absolutely expected, absolutely predictable, and, I think, this is only the beginning, and over time, such uprisings, such events, they will occur in many regions of Russia," the representative of the Chief Intelligence Directorate said.

The representative of the DIU reminded that over the past year, the highest composition of the Russian occupation forces had been replaced in Russia at least three times.

"Over the past year, I don't remember whether the highest composition of the Russian occupation forces has already been replaced three or even four times. They put military leaders. Military leaders, of course, can not cope, they replace them, they hope that the next one will be better, but there is no result. They will look now, well, this is a Russian tradition, look for some switchmen and punish them. Heads will fly, yes. Whether there will be a result is unknown," Chernyak said.

Andriy Chernyak also answered whether similar operations could take place in Belarus.

"Belarus is not yet actively involved in the war. There are no hundreds of thousands of dead in Belarus, so as soon as they appear, I think that some definite processes will begin in Belarus," the representative of the Chief Intelligence Directorate summed up.

Recall that representatives of the volunteer units "Russian Volunteer Corps" (RDK) and the legion "Freedom of Russia" are still on the territory of Russia in the Belgorod region.

A representative of the Freedom of Russia legion with the call sign "Caesar" said that volunteers conducted a combined operation on the territory of the Belgorod region.

On the night of May 27, a drone attacked the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation.
