The head of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces, General Karel Rzehka, called on the public to prepare for a "bad scenario" of Ukraine's counteroffensive.

Rzhehka said this in an interview with BILD.

The Czech general clarified what exactly he meant by the "bad scenario".

"Personally, I believe that we should prepare for a bad scenario - a long war," he said.

According to Rzhekhko, currently no one can predict how the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will end.

"The outcome of the war depends not only on tanks and armored personnel carriers. There are too many unknowns here," he says.

According to the head of the Czech General Staff, it may be that Western countries will have to supply Ukraine with weapons for many years.

"The Russians believe that time is on their side. We must show that they are wrong," he stressed.

Rzhehka said that the Czech Republic has already supplied Ukraine with more than 250 Soviet tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and helicopters.

The general called on Western politicians to prepare society for the fact that the war could last for years. This applies not only to the defense, but also, for example, to the economic sphere.

"No less important is our willingness to support Ukraine on other fronts: morally, diplomatically, financially and in other areas, such as education, culture, construction, etc.," Karel Rzehka summed up.

Earlier, adviser to the head of the President's Office Mykhailo Podolyak during an interview with the Italian TV channel Rai said that the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has already begun, intense fighting is taking place along the entire front line. He also said that the special operation has been going on for several days.

The day before, the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said that Ukraine currently has a minimum of weapons for the upcoming counteroffensive, but we still have to wait.
