After nearly 100 years, the country's old Parliament House is about to retire. The new Parliament is ready. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate it on Sunday, May 28. Exclusive visuals of the new Parliament building have surfaced. In this, you can see the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha from a high angle.

The old Parliament building is round. But the size of the new Parliament building has been kept triangular. Its interior has three national symbols – lotus, peacock and banyan tree. The new building has been built on these themes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament building on Sunday. The programme will begin with a havan in the morning, where the high priests of the Shaiva sect will formally hand over the scepter 'Sengol' to PM Modi. 'Sengol' will be installed near the Lok Sabha Speaker's chair.

There is a Constitution Hall in the middle of the new Parliament building. There is an Ashoka Pillar on top of it. On one side of the Constitution Hall is the Lok Sabha and its ceremonial entrance. On the other side is the Rajya Sabha and its ceremonial entrance.

The theme of the Lok Sabha is 'Peacock', the national bird. It is equipped with high quality audio-video. There are electronic devices on every desk here. The Lok Sabha has a seating capacity of 888 MPs. However, the new Parliament does not have a Central Hall. In such a situation, a joint session of Parliament will also be held in the Lok Sabha.


The theme of the Rajya Sabha is based on the national flower lotus. It is equipped with audio-video in the hall. That is, electronic devices are installed on every desk. There is a seating arrangement for 394 MPs. Large audience galleries have also been set up to watch the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

There is a central lounge on the third side of the Constitution Hall. There are arrangements for sitting and eating for MPs. There is an open space here, where a banyan tree has been planted. Ministers' offices and committee rooms have been built in the remaining parts of the new building.

The new Parliament building is five-star platinum rated. It has all kinds of smart features. This building has been designed keeping in mind the need of 5 years on the parameters of the highest seismic zone-150.

Pm Modi laid the foundation stone of the new Parliament building on December 2020, 10. The total cost of making it is Rs 970 crore. It has been built by Tata Limited Projects.
