The new head of the Morogoro Region, Fatuma Mwasa, has held a handover of office with former Regional Commissioner Albert Chalamila who was transferred to Dare es Salaam Region and called on the executives to work in partnership.

Fatuma Mwasa is making history as the first woman to become the head of the region in the history of the region.

Speaking after the office, Mwasa said he recognizes the region is on the border and many of the past are men and soldiers, so he is proud to open the history of being the first woman to be the Chief of the Wajir Region, while calling on all actors in the region to work in partnership.

"Let me assure you that as Chalamila left the sitting, and you wrote a lot online, that's how the day I come from the country of the country will be, because in my case no words are work and nothing different from work," Mwasa said.

He said he believes the region owes him to implement many development projects that its citizens are keen to implement, so he believes they will be implemented quickly, with good standards.

He said the Morogoro Region would continue to have a good income, contributing to GDP and growing the individual income through agriculture and farming.

Chalamila, in the handover, said the regional chief should not be afraid to carry out his duties because of the words of a few, but instead do a great job of helping the community to ensure he implements all projects brought by the government.
