Investigators of the State Bureau of Investigations are finding out the circumstances of a traffic accident involving the head of the district court of Kyiv region. The accident happened at one of the checkpoints in the city of Kyiv.

The SBI confirmed the information to TSN.ua about a fatal accident involving the head of the district court.

According to preliminary information, on May 26, around midnight in Kyiv, a judge driving a car hit a serviceman of the National Guard of Ukraine. As a result of the accident, the National Guardsman died on the spot from his injuries.

Further investigation is ongoing. The head of the district court of Kyiv region was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Code and taken for examination in order to identify the state of intoxication. The driver refused to pass the inspection. Currently, witnesses who were on duty at the checkpoint are being questioned and measures are being taken to remove the biological environment.

The pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violations of road safety rules or operation of vehicles by persons driving vehicles committed in a state of alcoholic, narcotic or other intoxication or under the influence of drugs that reduce attention and speed of reaction, if they caused the death of the victim.

The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 10 years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of 5 to 10 years.

Recall that 22-year-old Yaryna Arieva – Kyiv City Council deputy from Eurosolidarity and daughter of EU MP Volodymyr Ariev hit a female pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. According to the prosecutor's office, while driving, the girl was intoxicated.

Yasmin Aryeva herself comments on her page on the social network admits her guilt, but denies the state of drug intoxication.

In turn, her father-MP considers the case fabricated and calls it "revenge" for his political activities.
