New Delhi:

The new Parliament Building Inauguration is scheduled to be held on Sunday, May 28. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Parliament building after offering prayers. There will also be a special ritual on this occasion, which is being called 'Sengol Ceremony'. Pm Modi will install the Sengol Ceremony in front of the Chair of the Lok Sabha Speaker. Around 30 heads from various sub-names (monasteries) of Tamil Nadu have been invited to Delhi for the ceremony. The heads of the monasteries arrived in Delhi on Friday. He offered prayers at the Uttara Swami Malai temple.

These heads of monasteries in Trichy, Madurai and other places also replaced Tamil hymns like Thevaram, giving a glimpse of what the opening rituals would look like. Most of the 60 religious heads invited for the event are from Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu's subordinates or monasteries have a history of opposing upper caste supremacy. He is known for taking religion to the masses. Many of these monasteries are hundreds of years old.

The Thiruvaduthuraya subordinate who was tasked with preparing the Sengol or scepter for the transfer of power is itself 400 years old. Representatives of this monastery have also started reaching Delhi. Thiruvaduthurai Adhinam president V Balasubramanian said these monasteries were extremely knowledgeable about major Tamil traditions and customs. Parliament will only be enriched by the presence of Sengol and Tamil rituals.

"They say in Tamil that Sengol should not bow down. It is a symbol of fairness and we should be proud that such traditional symbols are getting their rightful place."

Earlier, the Congress questioned the BJP's claims on the history of Sengol and its importance in India's independence. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh alleged that the claim of sengol being made a symbol of transfer of power at the request of freedom fighter C Rajagopalachari was false. The RJD and DMK have also raised similar questions.

However, Thiruvaduthurai Adhinam issued a clarification expressing disappointment over the claims made by the Congress. At the same time, Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Congress is insulting not only ancient Hindu symbols, but also holy men.
