The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expects to receive official information from the services of the Republic of South Africa after the murder of Bulgarian businessman Krasimir Kamenov, known by the nickname Curro, and his wife in Cape Town.

His name is associated with a number of landmark crimes, and the attack against him comes two months after prosecutors charged Kamenov and declared him an international search.

He was charged in absentia with sponsoring the murder of former criminal police chief Lyubomir Ivanov in 2022, as well as with the sponsorship of other landmark shootings, including that of Georgi Iliev.

In March, prosecutors named Kamenov as part of a conspiracy involving other criminals as well as defendants in a plot to discredit senior magistrates and police officers.
