The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Awards Committee has made five nominations for the Azam Sports Confederations Cup (ASFC) Player of the Year Award.

A statement from the National Premier League Board (TPLB), released on Friday said the award did not include the names of the candidates, while other TFF awards were announced last week.

"The move was due to the wait for the second semi-final of the ASFC Cup between Singida Big Stars and Yanga last Sunday.

"The players nominated for the award and their team names in brackets are Prince Dube and Abdul Sopu (Azam), Bakari Mwamnyeto, Fiston Mayele and Clement Mzize (Yanga)," the statement said.

The statement also stated that the Awards Committee has nominated three events to enter the race for the Gentleman's Choice 'Fair Play' award.

"The two incidents are found in the Lions game against Yanga, one of which has been done by Saido Ntibazonkiza and the other by Jean Baleke. The third event is the Geita vs. Simba game which was conducted by Pape Sakho of Simba," the statement said.
