The Ukrainian counteroffensive has begun and has been going on for several days, said Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the President's Office.

He also spoke about the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine, stressing the absence of plans to strike at Russian territory. Thus, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will use weapons from allies exclusively for the liberation of the occupied territories of Ukraine.

"We do not want to strike at the territory of Russia, we will use the weapons that you gave us to destroy the positions of the Russian Federation in the territories occupied by Moscow, including Donbas and Crimea," Podolyak said.

He noted that today the Ukrainian military has long-range missiles Storm Shadow, Leopard tanks and anti-missile systems "provided to us by France and Italy."

The adviser to the head of the Office of the President also stressed that the F-16 fighter jets will finally allow us to close the airspace."

"The paradox: if we had them [the F-16] had a year ago, the war would have already ended," Podoliak added.
