The events in the Belgorod region have exposed a lot of problems in Russia. In particular, corruption, the fact that they have nothing to cover the border zones with Ukraine, as well as a very interesting detail, if this is true — that for more than a year of full-scale war they have not taken tactical nuclear weapons from Belgorod, which borders Ukraine.

This was told by military expert Oleh Zhdanov in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua.

"The fact is that Russia is a country that thinks that they are allowed everything, and others must comply with the law. I think that the views of the Russian top leadership were so adventurous that they did not even raise the issue of risk — what if the Armed Forces of Ukraine cross the border and defeat the Russian army? They didn't even have such a thought. Therefore, from there comes the second answer – why cover the border if we have won or are winning. If you listen to the official source channel of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, from the first day of this war they only go forward and win, destroy everything that could be destroyed several times. So I'm not surprised," says Zhdanov.

The expert noted that the border guards of the Russian Federation, except for checking documents, do not do anything special.

"By the way, the region where there were hostilities, where there were no hostilities – as Russian border guards were sitting, so they are sitting. In addition to checking documents, they no longer have any tasks. The armored personnel carrier is in the box, no roadblocks," he says.

Zhdanov said that he liked how the governor of Belgorod changed the arrows. When asked where the line of defense was, he replied that it turned out to be built in many deeper territories of Russia, not in the border zone.

"He also said that he had much more questions to the Ministry of Defense than questions to him. The fact is that, from a military point of view, if you build a line of defense, then it must be filled with personnel. If there is no soldier who constantly equips and improves this line of defense, cares for it, then this line will be washed away in two or three rains, all these dug tens of kilometers of trenches - they are useless. These blocks quietly stand along the road on the side of the road, next to the "dragon's teeth" actually lying around. No one built a system of roadblocks. As for corruption, I think if we add auditors there, it turns out that out of those 10 billion, three kopecks were spent to dig this trench with a tractor and unload 3-4 dozen blocks or "dragon's teeth" with a crane. Therefore, maybe one photo that they [Russian media] distributed, where four rows of those teeth stand, maybe it was Photoshop," the expert said.

Recall that the fighters of the "Russian Volunteer Corps" (in the system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine) again entered the territory of the Belgorod region of Russia and recounted greetings from the village of Glotovo.
