Russia said it was aware of Kyiv's involvement in a drone attack on the Kremlin in early May.

This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian president of the dictator Dmitry Peskov, write pro-Kremlin WMP.

Commenting on The New York Times' information about an organized attack on the Kremlin allegedly by one of the Ukrainian special services, Peskov said that no one else was involved, but only the "Kiev regime" - as Moscow calls the Ukrainian authorities.

"We immediately said that the Kyiv regime was behind this. In the end, it doesn't make much difference which of the units of the Kiev regime is behind it. The Kyiv regime is behind this, we know this, we are aware of this and proceed from this when building our work," the dictator's spokesman said.

By the way, earlier the NYT, citing unnamed American officials, reported that the White House believes that the drone attack was organized by one of the Ukrainian special services. in turn, US intelligence agencies do not have data on which unit carried out the attack and whether President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky was informed about the operation.

Attack on the Kremlin

On the night of May 3, two powerful explosions were heard near the Kremlin in Moscow. After that, thick smoke rose into the sky and the wall lights turned off. Moscow was silent for several days. Then the "Führer" Putin said, they say, did not attach much importance to this event.

Ukrainian intelligence said that the drone attack on the Kremlin could be the result of the activity of local resistance forces or a showdown in the "towers" of the Russian authorities, and Ukraine was not involved in this.

Meanwhile, U.S. analysts at the Institute for the Study of War said Russia likely staged the attack in an attempt to bring the war to Russian domestic audiences and create conditions for broader mobilization of society. According to several indications, it can be argued that the attack was targeted.
