(CNN Spanish) -- A magnitude 6.6 earthquake shook the border between Colombia and Panama on Wednesday night, according to reports from the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The seismic focus was located 10 kilometers deep. Near the epicenter is located, 63.3 kilometers to the southeast, the town of Necoclí, Antioquia, and 94.2 kilometers south Unguía, in the department of Chocó, Colombia.

The Colombian Geological Service also reported the earthquake of preliminary magnitude 6.6 and several aftershocks in the area.

For its part, the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management reported on Twitter that there is no tsunami threat for the Caribbean Coast after the earthquake.
