Two former law enforcement officers who raped a woman at the Kaharlyk police station three years ago received 11 years in prison.

Ex-operative Serhiy Sulyma and ex-head of one of the sectors of the department Mykola Kuziv raped Nelya Pohrebytska at the Kaharlyk police station in 2020.

The verdict was announced by avdokats Anna Kalynchuk and Olena Sotnyk on Facebook.

Kaharlyk police officers were sentenced to 11 years in prison on May 24. The Obukhov District Court found the men guilty on all charges (146-1, 127, 152 - ed.).

"The victim's claim to the National Police was fully satisfied. Nelya Pogrebitskaya will receive compensation for damage in the amount of one million 296 thousand hryvnias," the lawyers added.

As a reminder, on May 24, 2020, it was reported that a woman with serious injuries had turned to a hospital in Kaharlyk. According to her, thiswas done by police officers at the local police station.

Then, in the case of rape of a woman in the Kaharlyk police station, 18 people were dismissed from their posts.
