In Germany, in the city of Odelburg, participants in a Russian wedding cortege knocked to the ground and beat a 61-year-old Ukrainian from Kharkiv, an ex-ATO volunteer, because he made them remarks about the Russian tricolor. When eyewitnesses called the police, the Russians fled.

Sergey from Kharkiv lived in northern Saltivka. According to him, when Russian tanks tried to break into his hometown, he sent his family to Germany, and a month later, when he turned 60, he left himself.

In 2014-15, Sergei went to the front as a volunteer, served in the 30th motorized rifle brigade. But then he was younger, now his strength and health are not the same.

"In Germany, the attitude towards us, Ukrainians, is very good. I remember once the door in the car closed, there were no spare keys, and there was a dog inside. The master was called, he came in three minutes and did everything. But in Germany, such a service, and even on a weekend, costs decently. However, the master looked at the license plates of the car, asked if we were from Ukraine. He refused to pay, saying that it was his gift to us. These are the Germans here," says Serhii.

During the year of living in Odelburg, the Ukrainian did not have to conflict with the Russians.

On May 23, the day of the incident, he was driving in a car with his daughter. She noticed a Russian car with a tricolor behind the car.

"I looked, and they put up their flag from the back window, they are driving and waving it. Then the neighbors said that they were traveling by bus and also watched this wedding cortege, the Russians honked, waved the flag. Germans are annoyed, they don't behave like that," says Serhii.

The man could not stand it, stopped the car, got out and asked the passengers to remove their flag. In response, I heard a Russian mat.

"Then I didn't hold back, I grabbed this flag, broke the shaft, I stand with the flag and I don't even know where his children are. Here three strong young guys jump out of the car, three more from the second car, their women ran out. Checkmate, insults, they pushed me, knocked me onto the road, pushed me," Ukrainian recalls.

My daughter tried to help. But the Russians did not allow filming, knocked out the phone, did not allow the police to be called to stop all this. However, they managed to get through to the police, then the Russian wedding packed up and left. A few minutes later, a patrol appeared.

Photos of cars still managed to be made, we hope that German law enforcement officers will establish the names of the attackers.

"When a policeman asked me why I tore out the Russian flag, I explained to him that in Ukraine Russians are killing Ukrainians, children, civilians under this flag. Russia is an aggressor country. The policeman agreed with me," the victim tells Ukrainian.

Recall that in the front-line Kherson region, men staged a massacre of locals. The suspects face up to 12 years in prison.
