Several countries, including Poland, have begun training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets.

This was stated by the head of EU diplomacy Josep Borrell at a meeting of EU defense ministers in Brussels.

"I am happy that in the end, pilot training on the F-16 began in several countries. It will take time," he said.

When asked in which countries studies are already underway, Borel replied: "In many, for example, in Poland. They've already started."

The head of EU diplomacy also added that Ukraine absolutely needs F-16 fighter jets to continue its defense.

What is known about the training of Ukrainian pilots on the F-16

Earlier it was reported that Britain, the United States, the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark volunteered to train Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the training would last several months.

"Then there is the appropriate number of months to train our pilots. We will work to ensure that these people are as experienced as possible to shorten the learning process. I can't say now how many planes we will be able to get. I can't say when it will be. But we will accelerate this process, because it is important for us every day, because we are losing people," Zelensky said.
