On the eve of the brightest Bulgarian holiday – May 24, tension created the news of the closure of a school in Sofia. Vazrazhdane District Mayor Savina Savova proposes closing 76 William Saroyan Primary School, known as the Armenian School, and moving the children to the neighboring 32. SUICE "St. Kliment Ohriski".

The Armenian school is currently attended by 110 children. Their parents protested because of the lack of clarity where their children will study from September, BTV reported.

The arguments for the merger of the two schools – in the 32nd there is a chronic shortage of places, while in the 76th students decrease.

The principal of the Armenian School, Emilia Stefanova, claims that the mayor's motives only the interests of the 32nd school are highlighted. She also worries about the adaptation of the ten children with special educational needs.

"The important thing for these children is to get a supportive environment, work with educators, psychologists and resource teachers so that they can adapt. The natural environment for students is not a class with six students, it is in a class with 23 students, "said the regional mayor Savova.

The proposal is to be considered by the Sofia Municipal Council (SCC).
