The head of PMC "Wagner" Yevgeny Prigozhin, together with his mercenaries, plans to "sit out" during the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the rear. On June 1, the "Wagnerites" intend to leave the entire front line.

This is reported by ISW.

The day after Prigozhin declared victory in Bakhmut, PMC Wagner will hand over control of Bakhmut to Russian conventional forces on May 25 and will completely withdraw from the entire front line by June 1.

According to Prigozhin, reports of assault actions by PMC Wagner during this two-month period are allegedly fake.

The two-month recovery period announced by Prigozhin could allow Wagner troops to sit out key months of the Ukrainian counteroffensive, depending on when and how it begins.

It should be noted that military expert and colonel of the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Svitan said that the "Wagnerites" are trying to desert from the battlefield in the Bakhmut direction.

In addition, the Russian command can transfer the rest of the reserve to the Bakhmut direction. At the same time, statements by PMC "Wagner" leader Yevgeny Prigozhin about the "withdrawal" of his units are heard not for the first time.
