Russia's Su-27 destroyer has taken to the air to intercept two B-1B strategic bombers belonging to the U.S. Air Force over the Baltic Sea.

The EPA reports that journalists have been briefed on the matter at the Russian Federation's National Defense Monitoring Center.

It has been reported that the Russian crew has classified air targets as two B-1B strategic bombers belonging to the U.S. Air Force.

There have been no recorded violations of the Russian Federation's state border.

The Russian Federation's National Center for Defense surveillance also reported that a Russian destroyer had returned to its base aerodrome after foreign military aircraft were pulled from the Russian Federation's state border.
