A 50-year-old German man is in serious condition in a hospital in Grosseto, Italy, after having sex under the influence of drugs for about a day.

A man and his wife allegedly spent a "crazy" night in love after taking ecstasy in an apartment in Castel del Piano.

Local media reported that the man then became ill and ended up in hospital in early May. More than a week after he was hospitalized, his condition was described as serious.

He is currently in the intensive care unit, but his prognosis remains confidential and the names of the couple have not been released.

According to local media reports, he had septic shock that caused necrosis of the penis and scrotum.

Also in Italy last month, it was reported that an inept urologist was under investigation after he amputated a patient's penis due to a "tumor" that did not exist.

The surgeon was accused of causing serious injuries to an unnamed patient in the Tuscany region in 2018. The man, now 68, wants to sue the 35-year-old surgeon and demand compensation of 400,000 euros.

The patient said that he had suffered "very serious damage" and that he deserved compensation for the physical loss of the penis, as well as for the psychological trauma he suffered.

It is said that the surgeon who performed the operation had great respect, but no longer works in a hospital in Tuscany and moved to Milan.
