New Delhi:Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi on Sunday targeted the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party. He said the ordinance related to transfer postings of Delhi officers, which has been brought by the BJP-led central government, is aimed at checking the alleged corruption of the AAP.
Speaking to news agency ANI, he said that the ordinance has been brought to check the corruption committed by the AAP. In such a situation, those leaders who come to support them will also be called corrupt.
Meenakshi's reaction came after Arvind Kejriwal said that he would seek the cooperation of opposition leaders to oppose the ordinance brought by the Centre against the authority given to the AAP government by the Supreme Court.
Kejriwal will meet NCP president Sharad Pawar and former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai this week to seek their cooperation to oppose the ordinance promulgated by the Centre on transfer postings of officers. According to the AAP, Kejriwal will meet Uddhav Thackeray on May 24 and Sharad Pawar on May 25.
Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday held a meeting with his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal in the national capital and extended his support to the AAP chief against bringing an ordinance to give back control of "services" to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav was also present on the occasion.
On Friday, the central government brought an ordinance to notify rules for the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) regarding "transfer postings, vigilance and other relevant matters".
