PM Modi and President Biden meet on the sidelines of G7 summit

New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden met on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan. During this, the two leaders first met each other warmly and then both of them hugged each other. The meeting between the two leaders took place just ahead of the third in-person summit of the leaders of the Quad summit. Pm Modi is attending the G7 meeting at the invitation of PM Fumio Kishida.

PM Modi to visit US on June 21

Pm Modi's meeting with President Biden has taken place just before his US visit from June 21 to 24. During his visit to the US, PM Modi will be hosted by US President Biden at the White House. Amidst all this, before meeting President Biden on Saturday, PM Modi was welcomed by his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida on his arrival in Hiroshima for the Working Session 7 of the G6 Summit.

PM Modi meets Japanese counterpart

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Japan on Saturday, discussed the relationship between India and Japan during a bilateral meeting with his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida and the two leaders also discussed the focus of India's G20 Presidency and Japan's G7 Presidency towards improving the planet. Modi also stressed on the need to highlight the concerns and priorities of the Global South.

PM Modi also met President Zelensky.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the G-7 Summit in Hiroshima, Japan.

This is the first face-to-face meeting between the two leaders since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began in February last year. They have only been talking on the phone before. PM Modi has left for his three-nation tour. In the first phase, he left for the Japanese city this morning to attend three sessions of the G7 Summit. He will also visit Papua New Guinea and Australia. The President of Ukraine is attending the summit at the invitation of Japan.
