Mold is a fungus that appears on raw objects and tends to spread over any surface. Mold, dirt, unpleasant smell that accompany it are dangerous to human health, to things that we win, to the washing equipment itself. Most often, mold collects under the manhole cuff, on the rubber seals of the washing machine.

Budget mold gum cleaners

Hydrogen peroxide

To get rid of mold on the rubber of the washing machine sealant, you need to prepare a solution of one part of hydrogen peroxide 6% and one part of water. If hydrogen peroxide is 3%, it is not necessary to dilute it with water. And if the case is started, add vinegar to hydrogen.

Treat rubber with the prepared solution or just 3% hydrogen peroxide, wait 10-15 minutes, then wipe off the remaining mold with a stiff brush. Rinse the gum and wipe dry. To consolidate the result, rubber can be wiped with essential oil.

Citric acid

To clean the washing machine from mold, in addition to citric acid, you will need "Domestos" or another cleaning agent.

First you need to prepare the work surface, wipe the gum with a damp cloth or sponge dipped in a weak soapy solution. Next, with an elastic band already moistened in "Domestos" or in another product, it is good to walk on the seal. It is necessary to wipe all hard-to-reach places, otherwise the mold will return again.

After that, close the door of the washing machine and leave it in this position for at least 2 hours. After this time, pour citric acid (half a glass) into the machine, set the maximum temperature and turn on the "Rinse" mode. For the best effect, such a manipulation can be done twice.

Baking soda

To clean the mold, dilute one teaspoon of the ingredient in one glass of water at room temperature and wash the mold on the rubber band of the washing machine with this solution. Leave the machine for half an hour, then start the "empty" wash for half an hour. To enhance the effect, you can add a tablespoon of washing powder before starting.

A few tips so that mold does not reappear

  • Each time after washing, wipe the drum, sealant, all rubber parts.
  • Keep the machine door open after washing so that the drum is ventilated.
  • Do not leave wet laundry in the machine, remove it immediately.
  • Do not abuse the air conditioner. Turn on the optional rinse mode when using the air conditioner.
  • Run an "empty" wash in boiling mode monthly. Every six months, clean the machine with citric acid or vinegar.
