American billionaire and inventor, founder of SpaceX and Tesla Elon Musk considers remote work "morally wrong", because representatives of many other professions cannot afford it.

He told about this in an interview with CNBC, reports Bloomberg.

Musk said remote work reduces productivity and also sends the wrong signals to factory workers and other workers who are unable to switch to "remote work."

"People build cars, service cars, build houses, repair houses, cook, do all the things that people consume. It's pointless to assume they have to go to work and you don't. It's not just a productivity thing, I think it's morally wrong," the billionaire said.

Musk called IT workers "a laptop class living in la la land."

Musk is an "opponent of distance learning"

It should be noted that Elon Musk is a strong supporter of the policy of returning to work from distance learning. Last summer, he issued an ultimatum to Tesla employees, requiring them to spend at least 40 hours a week in the office.

After buying Twitter, Musk in the very first letter to employees announced the ban on remote work. Previously, the company allowed staff to work remotely from anywhere. Many employees switched to this mode of operation at the beginning of the pandemic. At the same time, Twitter introduced a monthly holiday for the entire company. Musk, after buying the company, canceled this additional "day of rest".

Subsequently, it became known that the billionaire forces Twitter employees to literally live at work and even arranged sleeping places for employees.
