President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that it would take some more time to start the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The head of state told reporters about this on May 15 after meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, reports the BBC.

Journalists asked Zelensky whether it is fair to say that Ukraine cannot launch a counteroffensive until it receives modern weapons. Answering questions, the president said he could not share details.

"We really need some more time. Not very much. We'll be ready in a while. There are no secrets from our friends, but there are secrets from our neighbors," the head of state said.

Recall that during a visit to Germany on May 14, Zelensky said that Ukraine does not yet have enough weapons to launch a counteroffensive. The President said that in order to complete the troops, he still needs to make several foreign visits. It should be noted that before his visit to Germany, Zelensky visited Italy, and after Germany – in France. Today, the head of state is on a visit to Britain, where he has already met with Sunak.
