In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the northwest winds will milder and the rain will gradually be cut off.

Asif Verdiev, director of the Center for Hydrology of the National Hydrometeorology Service, said in a statement to the EPA. He said that baku and the Absheron Peninsula were predicted to be 11 degrees Fahrenheit [-<>°C] warmer this evening:

"On May 16-17, the relatively mild northwest winds in Baku will blow. Temperatures will rise slightly compared to today to 14 to 19 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. During the day, torrential rains are expected in some areas."

As for the volatile rainy weather in the regions, he has said May 16 will last until midday.

"Although it is expected to be mostly rainfall-free in the days to come, rainy weather is forecast again during the daytime hours of May 17-18," he said.
