A watch by the last emperor Aisin Kyoro Puyi will be auctioned in Hong Kong on the 23rd of this month, valued at 300 million US dollars (about 2350.2 million Hong Kong dollars). According to CNN, the watch model to be auctioned is Patek Philippe Reference96 Quantieme Lune, which is currently only 8 pieces in the world, which is very rare. The watch is made of platinum, has a beautiful appearance, and also has a "moon phase" function, which can show the appearance of the moon at any point in time.

The watch's bumpy history has also added a lot of value to itself. According to Phillips, the auction house, which was in charge of the auction, the watch is 86 years old. Originally sold through a luxury store in Paris, the watch went to Puyi, who was captured by the Soviet Union for five years after World War II and gave the watch to Permiyakov, his then Russian translator.

It was not until Permyakov's death in 2005 that the watch was passed on to future generations. In 2019, Permyakov's descendants commissioned the Phillips auction house to auction. Phillips spent three years researching the watch's history. According to a statement issued by the head of the auction house, the auction house has gathered watch experts, historians, journalists and scientists from all over the world to conduct all-out research on watches.

The study found that Puyi's nephew, Yuyan, once recalled that Puyi liked the watch very much and wore it every day when he was in Manchukuo. The watch has been exhibited in New York, Singapore, London and will soon be sent to Geneva for display before returning to Hong Kong for auction on May 5 at Phillips' new headquarters in Asia (located in the West Kowloon Cultural District).

Along with the watch will be auctioned 15 watercolor paintings by Puyi's brother-in-law, Guo Brorunqi, and a paper fan that Puyi gave to Permiyakov with Puyi's autographed poem. In addition, Puyi's notebook and his collection of Analects will also be auctioned.
