Germany will provide Ukraine with a new package of military assistance worth about 2.7 billion euros, the country's largest aid since the start of the full-scale war.

The package will include another 20 Marder armored personnel carriers, 30 Leopard 1 tanks, 18 wheeled howitzers, 12 IRIS-T-SLS launchers and hundreds of guided missiles for this system.

In addition, Berlin wants to help Ukraine in the reconnaissance of enemy positions, for this it is planned to supply up to 200 reconnaissance drones.

"It is also planned to transfer 100 protected combat vehicles, which will primarily be used to transport troops to the front, and more than 100 logistics support vehicles," the statement said.

Germany also intends to significantly modernize Ukraine's air defense.

It is noted that the package should be announced in parallel with the presentation of the Charlemagne Prize to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday in Aachen.

It should be noted that one of the largest manufacturers of military equipment and weapons in Germany, the Rheinmetall concern, founded a joint venture with the Ukrainian Ukroboronprom.
