Former President of the United States of America

Donald Trump

said during a debate with voters in Manchester that now is not the time to call Russian President Vladimir Putin a war criminal.

This was reported by the American TV channel CNN.

"If you say that he is a war criminal, it will be much more difficult to make a deal to stop this thing (the war in Ukraine - ed.). If he is a war criminal, people will catch him and execute him, he will fight much harder than for others circumstances. That's something that can be discussed later," Trump said.

Trump stopped short of saying whether he wanted Russia or Ukraine to win the war when asked by CNN's Caitlin Collins.

"I'm not thinking about winning and losing. I'm thinking about how to fix things so that we stop killing all these people," he said.

To the moderator's second question about whether the former president wants Ukraine to win, Trump did not answer directly, saying that he wanted "everyone to stop dying."

"Russians and Ukrainians, I want them to stop dying. And I will do it within 24 hours," added Trump.

It will be recalled that the Prime Minister of Hungary

Viktor Orbán

said that the war in Ukraine could have been avoided if the former US President Donald Trump had remained in power.

Donald Trump has

promised that he will end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours if he is elected president of the United States.

He also "announced" the Third World War.
