The United States authorities carried out this Wednesday the second operation to return irregular migrants by air in 2023,

with 66 people (60 men and six women)

who were indistinctly captured when they reached the coasts by sea or when crossing the border with Mexico.

A total of 35 had left the country illegally by sea and were detained upon landing on US soil, while 31 had left the country legally by air and then used irregular routes to reach the southern border.

More than 50% of the latter traveled in 2022 to countries in the area.

In total, the Americans have returned to Cuba this year 2,708 people, 40 times by the Coast Guard and two by air.

From countries in the area

there are 3,646 returns in 69 operations through both channels.
