The European Union is ready to provide Ukraine with a million shells for artillery to fight against Russian aggression.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced this at a briefing with the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

"Every day, Ukraine demonstrates the effectiveness of our defense against Russian aggression. Every downed terrorist missile, every success of our soldiers in repelling Russian assaults is proof that we can defeat this aggressor," he said.

At the same time, the president emphasized the importance of the proportionality of Ukraine's capabilities to the capabilities that Russia has.

"In this context, today I thanked Ursula for the readiness of the European Union to provide Ukraine with the much-needed ammunition, one million shells for artillery," Vinyu said

Zelenskyi also noted that, among other things, he discussed with von der Leyen the speed of procurement and delivery of these ammunitions, because they are needed on the front lines.

We will remind you that on May 5, the Council of the EU finally approved the allocation of 1 billion euros for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine.
