[Reporter Ding Yi/Taipei Report] Chunghwa Telecom, Far EasTone, and Taiwan Mobile will conduct a "disaster prevention notification test in Chinese and English" in all counties and cities across Taiwan at 4 pm tomorrow (10th).

The telecommunications industry reminds the public that when the public receives a disaster warning message, the mobile phone will emit a special warning sound and vibration, so please do not panic.

Taiwan Mobile said that when the disaster prevention authority detects a disaster, it can use the "disaster prevention and warning cell broadcast message system" to issue warning messages to people in specific areas, so that the people can grasp disaster information as soon as possible and take immediate response measures. Therefore, Taiwan Mobile will conduct tests on the whole Taiwan or sub-regions from time to time this year to ensure that the disaster prevention notification is more robust.

Far EasTone and Chunghwa Telecom pointed out that the sending operation will be carried out through the "monthly test message" channel, and the use of customer service will not be affected during the test period.

The "Monthly Test Message" channel is turned off by default in most mobile phones to minimize interference to customers. Only a small number of customer mobile phones will emit special alarm sounds and vibrations.
