On May 9,

Ukrainian and pro-Ukrainian activists did not allow the Russian ambassador in Warsaw,

Syarhei Andreyev , to lay a wreath at the monument to the Red Army soldiers in the capital of Poland.

Several hundred people were waiting for the ambassador at the cemetery where the memorial is located.

There was also an installation that condemns the Russian invasion of Ukraine and reminds about the alleged war crimes committed by the Russian military in this country.

In the end, he had to leave, but he said that he could try to come back later and still lay the wreath.

On the morning of May 9, a group of activists organized a protest outside the building of the Russian embassy in Warsaw.

Last year, the Russian ambassador was doused with red paint on May 9, also as a sign of protest against the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
