rang out in an apartment in the Desnyan district of the capital .

Currently, the police are establishing the circumstances of the incident.

This was reported by the police press service.

"Today, Kyiv police received information that a grenade exploded in an apartment on Liskivska Street. According to preliminary information, the ammunition detonated due to careless handling," the report says.

It is also noted that there are no victims.

A man who illegally kept a grenade was detained by the police in accordance with Art.

208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The investigative department of the Desnyan Police Department has initiated criminal proceedings under Art.

263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - illegal handling of weapons, ammunition.

The sanction of the article provides for deprivation of liberty for a period of three to seven years.

It will be recalled that earlier it was reported that 

a grenade exploded in a residential high-rise building

in Zaporizhzhia .

One person died and one person was injured.
