Between May and June, Los Van Van will be on tour in the United States, Puerto Rico and Europe.

The popular Cuban orchestra Los Van Van will perform on May 26 at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts in New York, on a tour that will also take them to stages in Miami, San Francisco, San Diego, Houston and Puerto Rico.

According to the group's official Facebook site, Los Van Van will be at Miami Beach Bandshell on May 19, and on May 27 at the famous San Francisco Carnival and at Club Roccapulco, also in the Californian city.

A day later, the "Cuban music train" will take part in the San Diego Caribbean Festival, in a fundraising event to provide music and instrument lessons to underserved youth in that city on the North American east coast.

In addition to Los Van Van, the festival includes performances by the Tipica 73 orchestra, from Puerto Rico, which will be celebrating its 50th anniversary, and La Verdad, from Los Angeles.

In another publication on the same social network, the orchestra reports that it will tour Europe from June 3 to 16.

Founded in 1969 by bassist Juan Formell, Los Van Van has remained the preference of the Cuban public and followers abroad of popular dance music produced on the Island ever since.

In 1999, he received the Grammy for the album

Llegó… Van Van (Van Van is here)

and has had several nominations in other editions.

In November 2013, its director for more than five decades won the Latin Grammy for Musical Excellence.
