The principal of the primary school said in an interview that the teacher’s behavior sparked discussions among parents in the Facebook community, and also received complaints from parents about suspected cases of corporal punishment. Since March, the school’s school affairs meeting has formed an investigation committee to investigate. The investigation was completed recently and the content of the complaint was confirmed to be true.

The principal said that the teacher has been transferred from his current job since March, and the school is also very active in the follow-up counseling of the victimized students. They use full-time tutors to tutor them during class or school-wide assembly.

As for the teachers in the school, they also continue to promote positive discipline, and will provide counseling and discipline enhancement training during the semester, hoping that similar incidents will not happen again.

The Education Bureau stated that the school has completed the investigation of the teacher’s suspected improper discipline behavior, and will send it to the teacher’s performance appraisal committee for punishment, and will be punished in accordance with the Children and Youth Welfare and Rights Protection Law.
