, law enforcement agencies detained a group of seven people who were planning terrorist attacks.
This was announced by the Belgian prosecutor's office,
De Standaard
informs .
It is known that the detainees discussed several scenarios of attacks from Belgium, but have not yet decided on the goal.
"They talked about NATO buildings, but at the moment these plans do not look very concrete," a representative of the prosecutor's office told the newspaper.
Almost all the suspects are from Chechnya.
Three of them have Belgian citizenship and belong to people who are ardent supporters of the terrorist group "Islamic State".
Some of them were previously prosecuted for minor violations.
Belgian police have made arrests after raiding several locations in West Flanders and Ghent as part of a terrorism investigation.
All detainees may be charged with attempted murder, participation in a terrorist group and preparation of a terrorist attack.
