On Wednesday, May 3, deputies of the Odesa City Council decided to rename a number of toponyms in the city.

This is stated on the website of the city council.

Before making a decision at the session, the deputies took into account the recommendations of the historical and toponymic commission and the results of an online survey of Odessa residents.

As a result, the former Oleksandrivsky Avenue was named Ukrainian Heroes, Kurganska Street became Kurgan Street, Brest Street became Berestey Street, and the Baikal dead end became Kalinova Street.
