Beijing Jiaotong University stated that the Ministry of Communications revised the "Uniform Penalty Criteria and Handling Rules for Violations of Road Traffic Management Incidents" on March 31 this year. If a car does not suspend pedestrian crossings to allow pedestrians to pass first, the fine will be the maximum statutory amount of 3,600 yuan. punishment.

On April 14 this year, the Legislative Yuan also passed the third reading of the amendment to the regulation, which raised the upper limit of the above-mentioned fine to 6,000 yuan, which is expected to be implemented in the third quarter of this year.

The Taipei City Government has also set up a "Pedestrian Safety and Friendly Project Task Force" to maintain pedestrian safety. The Taipei City Police Department has also formulated a plan to strengthen the prevention and control of traffic accidents for high-risk objects (elderly and pedestrians) in the second quarter of this year. Enforcement has been strengthened for four violations including pedestrians. From March 22 to April 30 this year, a total of 37,088 cases were banned, an increase of 9,409 cases compared with the same period last year.
