〔Reporter Chen Wenchan/Kaohsiung Report〕Gaoshi Environmental Protection Bureau joins hands with the Beimenli River Patrol Team of Fengshan District to protect the Fengshan River. This year, inspections have been strengthened, 210 kilometers of the river have been cleaned, 430 kilograms of waste have been cleared, and a food processing factory has been seized. For Fengshan River, a fine of 30,000 yuan was imposed for violating the Water Pollution Law, and 489.58 tons of upstream river dredging was used to improve the water environment through a multi-pronged approach.
This year, the Environmental Protection Bureau plans to promote the inspection of the upper reaches of the Bo'ai Bridge in the Fengshan River Water Pollution Control Area and the cleaning of waste. It conducts regular inspections several times a week, and joins hands with the Beimenli River Patrol Team to carry out activities such as cleaning the stream, increasing the number of Fengshan streams. The number of inspections in Shanxi, urging factories to properly operate wastewater treatment facilities, has accumulated nearly 200 inspections this year, with a total inspection length of more than 210 kilometers and a total of 430 kilograms of waste cleaned.
In addition, in order to improve the odor and sediment floating in Fengshanzhen upstream of Fengshan River, the Environmental Protection Bureau carried out dredging operations in the Fengshanzhen river section from April 12 to 14. The length of the river was about 200 meters, and the total amount of silt was removed. Reaching 489.58 metric tons, the effect is considerable.
The Environmental Protection Bureau has also strengthened the inspection of Fengshan Creek, inspecting along the Fengshan Creek every day, and inspecting the discharge outlets of industries such as food manufacturing and tanning industries that produce high-organic waste water. Since last year, a total of 66 inspections have been conducted, and 4 fines totaling 380,000 yuan have been issued. 5,000 yuan, including 7 inspections this year, and 1 food processing factory was seized for improper operation, causing sludge to be discharged to Fengshan Town.
The Environmental Protection Bureau inspects the normal operation and regular maintenance of the waste water treatment facilities of the industry, and immediately reports and punishes illegal discharge behaviors once they are found, so as to prevent the illegal discharge of high organic waste water from polluting Fengshan River and ensure the water quality of Fengshan River.
The Environmental Protection Bureau has adopted multi-pronged measures such as business inspections and cleaning up waste and silt on the river surface. The cases of water pollution complaints in the upper reaches of Fengshan River have dropped significantly; The proportion of seriously polluted rivers has dropped from 9.7% in the previous year to 8.3% last year, and this year's water quality index has no seriously polluted river sections.
In addition, the Environmental Protection Bureau also organized Fengshan Stream Environmental Education Courses, and completed 9 training sessions for seed teachers, day school activities, deep cultivation education promotion, and river inspection guides for small patrolmen. The number of participants reached 448, which was well received.
This year, the Environmental Protection Bureau continues to train volunteers from the Water Environment Patrol Team, community residents, district chiefs in neighboring watersheds, and elementary and middle school teachers, combining education on Fengshan cultural relics and coastal ecological water environment to enhance environmental protection knowledge through classroom learning.
Director Zhang Ruihui said that the Environmental Protection Bureau will continue to inspect industrial wastewater, Fengshan Creek inspections, and waste cleanup operations, and design day courses with environmental education connotations to enhance public awareness of environmental protection, calling on the public not to throw away plastic bottles and plastic bags Garbage waiting in the river will be disposed of by garbage trucks at fixed points and regularly, and recyclable waste will be handed over to resource recovery trucks to create a beautiful water environment.
