Liu Rongqi, chairman of Cathay Wine Company, is suspected of colluding with Leopard and other hotels and grooming KTV operators to evade hundreds of millions of yuan in taxes. In January this year, the Central Procuratorate launched two waves of large-scale searches against Cathay Wine, Golden Leopard Hotel, and grooming KTV operators, and seized Cathay Wine. Since June 2016, a company with a false company number has provided blank invoices and credit card machines to as many as 47 hotels in the Taichung area, and jointly concealed the sales of each hotel's business premises, with statistics reaching more than 2.2 billion yuan.

Liu Rongqi paid 100 million yuan in insurance in February this year

Liu Rongqi was detained for a time after he arrived at the case. In mid-February, the Central Prosecutor believed that Liu had pleaded guilty and applied to the Taichung District Court for detention. Afterwards, Liu's relatives immediately paid the security deposit in less than five hours, showing their amazing strength.

The prosecution concluded the first wave of investigations in March, prosecuting Liu Rongqi and 25 people from six hotels in accordance with the crime of filling in false accounting documents under the Commercial Accounting Law and the crime of aggravated fraud and tax evasion under the Tax Collection Law.

Police investigation brought back 8 people in the third wave of search yesterday

The prosecutors and the police launched the third wave of search interviews yesterday. Prosecutors from the Central Procuratorate led prosecutors, investigation bureaus, and dozens of Taichung police officers to carry out the search in thirteen divisions. A total of eight employees investigated and clarified the follow-up of the Cathay Wine case, and were transferred to the Central Procuratorate after the inquiry.

After the prosecutor's re-examination, he believed that Yuan was involved in the crime of evading taxes and evading taxes by fraudulent means in the Tax Collection Act, and that the crimes of falsely filling in accounting documents in the Commercial Accounting Act and making false financial statements by improper methods were serious suspects. Concerned about the evidence, there are reasons and necessity for detention, and the application to the Intermediate Court for detention was approved.

It is understood that Yuan Changping denied being involved in the case.

The prosecution also ordered the accountants and employees surnamed Hong, Xiao, Lin, etc. to pay 80,000 to 100,000 yuan each to provide a bond, and the rest of the defendants to return.

The old Dong Yuan Changping of the Golden Leopard was brought back for interrogation yesterday and was taken into custody at night.
