Prime Minister Galab Donev

Galab Donev was born in 1967 in Sofia.

Graduated from the 35th Russian Language High School in Sofia.

accepted the new US ambassador to Bulgaria, Kenneth Merten, to the Council of Ministers.

Prime Minister Donev congratulated Ambassador Merten on his appointment in Sofia and wished him a successful and fruitful mandate, the government information service reported.

The Prime Minister emphasized the excellent bilateral relations and expressed confidence that Bulgaria and the USA will continue to work for the additional activation of the traditionally good dialogue and the development of cooperation in mutual interest.

The Prime Minister recalled that this year marks the 120th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

gave high praise for the US support for the modernization of the Bulgarian Armed Forces and the acquisition of new capabilities, as well as for the achievement of energy diversification of the country and the region. 

During the meeting, Prime Minister Donev confirmed that the inclusion of Bulgaria in the Visa-Free Travel Program (VWP) remains a top priority for our country.

The Prime Minister also noted that Bulgaria relies on the support of the USA in the process of joining the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
