NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed the talks between the leaders of Ukraine and China, but emphasized that Beijing had not officially condemned Russia's aggression.

Stoltenberg said this at a press conference in Luxembourg.

"I welcome the telephone conversation between President Zelenskyi and President Xi... This does not change the fact that China failed to condemn Russia's illegal war, illegal invasion of Ukraine," Stoltenberg said.

The NATO Secretary General added that China should "better understand" Ukraine's prospects

In addition, he reminded that allies from the Alliance supported Zelenskyi's peace plan.

It primarily refers to respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

It will be recalled that on April 26, President Volodymyr

Zelenskyi announced that he had spoken with Chinese leader

Xi Jinping.

Kyiv was the initiator.

The Ukrainian leader called the dialogue long and meaningful.
