In Kyiv, a 40-year-old woman who threw her three-year-old child from an eighth-floor window was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

According to the court's verdict, in January 2021, after an argument on the phone with a civilian man, the accused opened a window in the apartment and started throwing things from the eighth floor.

Immediately after that, the woman took her three-year-old son in her arms, and, approaching the open window, leaned the body of the young child over the windowsill and let him go.

As a result of these actions, the boy fell to the ground from the height of the 8th floor and received serious injuries.

Thanks to the timely response of law enforcement officers, doctors and witnesses, the child's life was saved.

In court, the accused denied her guilt, noting that the boy apparently fell out of the window himself.

However, the court questioned a number of witnesses, whose testimony contradicted the version of the accused.

The examination found the woman to be reprehensible.

The court left unchanged the preventive measure chosen by the accused in the form of detention until the court's verdict becomes final.

The injured boy is under the care of relatives, he is in satisfactory condition.

It will be recalled that during the detention the woman reported that she threw her son out of the window and did not want to live.
