The spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria

Zakharova

reacted to the telephone conversation between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the President of China Xi Jinping.

The Russian Foreign Ministry praised China for its "willingness to make efforts to establish the negotiation process."

"We note the readiness of the Chinese side to make efforts to establish the negotiation process. We see a broad consonance of our principled approaches with the provisions of the relevant position document published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China on February 24," she said.

However, Zakharov, as expected, accused Ukraine and Western countries of "rejecting healthy initiatives aimed at settlement."

"At the same time, we believe that the problem does not lie in the lack of good plans. So far, the Kyiv regime shows its rejection of any healthy initiatives aimed at the political and diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, and the possible agreement to negotiations is conditioned by ultimatums with unrealistic demands in advance. The Ukrainian authorities and their Western curators have already demonstrated their capabilities in the development of peace initiatives," said the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
