[Reporter Wu Junfeng/Tainan Report] A residential fire broke out in Yongkang District, Tainan this morning. The scene was a rented dormitory mostly rented out to college students. The fire brigade dispatched 26 vehicles to it, and evacuated and rescued 12 people.

The fire took place in a three-story building on Lane 942, Dawan Road, Yongkang District. It was a rented dormitory. The fire station was reported at 7:19. At that time, thick smoke had already emerged, and it was still unknown how many people were trapped. 26 people were dispatched urgently. The car and 49 people were rescued one after another.

The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes and then extinguished. Firefighters searched inside and rescued 2 people on the first floor and 10 people on the third floor. Fortunately, none of them were in danger.

The other rooms are locked and are being checked gradually. The cause of the fire and the loss of property are still subject to further investigation.
