In Ternopil, an employee of the State Migration Service of Ukraine was sentenced to 4 years in prison, who received a bribe of 300 dollars, 200 of which he ate.

This is stated in the verdict of the Ternopil City District Court.

According to the court, in April 2019, an official of the State Migration Service of Ukraine offered the woman to solve her problems regarding the issuance of a temporary residence permit in Ukraine.

He said that for $300 she would get the documents.

Since the victim did not have any money with her, she promised that she would bring it later.

However, the woman filed a complaint with the SBU.

A week later, the woman brought the official 100 dollars, and a day later - 200. Then he was detained by law enforcement officers.

During the investigation, the security forces did not find money on the suspect, although there were traces of dye on his body, which was used to mark the bills.

After reviewing the surveillance cameras, it turned out that the official, seeing law enforcement officers, ate $200 out of fear.

At the court, the official denied his guilt.

He stated that his stomach really hurt, but it was allegedly an old disease.

However, the court found the suspect guilty and sentenced him to 4 years in prison.

The Ternopil official can still appeal the verdict in the appeals court.

It will be recalled that a resident of the Ternopil region transferred 38 thousand hryvnias to a foreigner whom she met on social networks.

After that, the man disappeared, and the victim contacted the police.
