[Reporter Huang Meizhu/Hsinchu Report] In response to the need for the doubling of electric vehicles and smart parking fees in Hsinchu County, the county government plans to take advantage of the expiration of the on-street parking fee business entrusted to the Zhubei City Office at the end of the year. The county is self-operated.

County magistrate Yang Wenke said that this is a prelude to upgrading the hardware equipment of all on-street parking spaces and off-street parking lots in Zhubei and the county government. Zhubei built about 200 smart parking poles and charging piles, and then gradually expanded to other towns to comprehensively improve the smart parking charging service in Hsinchu County in stages.

County Mayor Yang Wenke said that Hsinchu County is a technological county, but the hardware equipment for on-street parking fees is still in the "old days". In the era of energy saving, public transport tools are needed.

At present, the transportation and tourism office of the county government is investigating the demand for charging piles for automobiles and motorcycles in 13 townships and cities in the county, so as to obtain funds. Next year, the county government will issue a contract to build them, so that all users of green vehicles can travel smoothly throughout the county. .

In addition, smart parking poles are also urgently needed to be established. This will not only facilitate multiple payments for parkers, but also allow the county government to make up for the time difference caused by manual billing and charging, and implement the spirit of user payment.

Dai Zhijun, director of the transportation and tourism department of the county government, said that the central forward-looking budget has a special subsidy project for the county and city governments to apply for the construction of smart parking poles and charging piles, so the county government decided to cooperate with the committee to organize the on-street parking charging business in Zhubei City this year At the end of the year, it will be processed after it has been recovered. At present, relevant plans are being drawn up to strive for the approval of relevant funds by the central government.

He said that at present, public parking spaces in Zhubei, Zhudong, Hukou, Xinpu and Baoshan counties in 13 townships and cities in the county are open to the public for charging. Among them, Zhubei City has the largest scale, with a total of 115 road sections, 27 off-street parking lots, with a total of 7,583 spaces, are operated by the municipal government for a long time, with an annual income of nearly 70 million.

He also said that the number of electric vehicles in Hsinchu County has doubled, and the number has already ranked third in the country outside the six capitals.

In order to facilitate these electric vehicle owners to go out and recharge, the office is investigating the actual local needs through various public offices. The results of the investigation will be included in the construction plan of the aforementioned nearly 200 smart parking poles, and they will also propose a budget to the central government in the near future.

Dai Zhijun said that the preliminary selection will be to install smart parking poles in the county parking hotspots such as the roadside parking spaces between the county police station and the fire station.

The Hsinchu County Government plans to take back the long-term entrusted Zhubei City Office to handle parking charges for county-owned on-street parking spaces and off-street parking lots next year, in order to upgrade county-owned parking charges towards smarter and energy-saving directions.
