[Reporter Cai Wenju/Tainan Report] Starting from July this year, Tainan City will subsidize the health insurance expenses of the elderly over 65 or the aborigines over 55 for those whose comprehensive income tax rate does not exceed 5%.
Kuomintang Tainan City Councilor Lu Kunfu held a press conference today, criticizing the policy for being 12 and a half years late. Doesn't the DPP need to apologize first?
Lu Kunfu said that after the merger of Tainan counties and cities, the health insurance subsidies for the elderly have been lagging behind the other five cities. On April 21, Mayor Huang Weizhe announced that starting in July this year, the elderly over 65 years old or the aborigines over 55 years old will be subsidized for health insurance. More than 280,000 citizens can receive a maximum subsidy of 826 yuan per person per month without additional application.
He said that it is infuriating that he has worked hard for years to obtain health insurance subsidies for the elderly, and it is 12 and a half years later than other municipalities.
